Corona times 2020-23 An update as we head towards further relaxing lock down

Have been seeking good news to share, but have been mostly confused or scared by some videos kindly sent to me . One expert, a resident of USA,  was worried about the result of migrants getting back home carrying Covid 19 along with them. He was sure his home state Bihar and similar states to which 63 Million workers had returned, would see sharp increase in covid +ve cases. ((I am quoting the numbers stated by Home minister Amit Shah!)

Not that he was all negative, he did say the lockdown was a good decision!
I have collected information from a website  to make the chart shown below! So far  the contributing states to migrant labor do not have alarming numbers, touch wood!

                                     Cases           Death
The first column is about number of cases and the second about the deaths till 27 June 2020.

Even more scary was a prediction that 50% of the population would have positive cases. (By end of the year?)

This was made by a reputed doctor and an Indian resident. He did comfort the interviewer, who became seriously anxious, (I hope he was not just acting for effect!)  that the mortality would not be high! He also said further lockdowns would not be beneficial.

The chart below shows that 68% of our population have so far have had 468,751 cases and mortality at 15,691 was at around 3% of the positive cases. The rest of 32% of our population had 62246 positive cases with a mortality of 437 persons.  Four states had high numbers of death and percentage of growth in cases in four states are worrying. (As of June 27, 2020)
Sorry to show a split graph.
So far so good! My fervent wish is that the Shadow cabinet (I mean the media,) will go off screen for one month, and let the government concentrate on masks and social distancing.

It was said that lock down was required to get prepared for the eventual rise in the cases. If we have not done so, any number of lockdowns will be just that, only numbers and god help Indians.

Interesting analysis. Wonder what the last column in the sedond table headed as % population was meant to convey.
Karnataka is poised for an explosive increase.
