Corona Tiimes 2020 .....26. Trying to understand the charts! Is indiscipline only with the 'average citizen'?

The web is full with all kinds of activities.  

 I sought to look at charts and its implications. 

This is only about Namma 'urban' Bengaluru.

If 'Deceased' graph looks flat, it is only because the scale used makes it so!

The chart begins on 26 April and on that day 5 patients died.

Yesterday, 17 July, 582 had passed on! A huge jump!

Since a month cases are shooting up! 
Not surprisingly we urbans' account for half the cases of Karnataka.

The answer we get if we question 'what went wrong?' 
"The people are not disciplined!"

Too bad indiscipline is in our psyche . 

As Kishen rightly pointed out on my earlier blog,                                                                            “We need to concentrate on taking care of patients!" It seems not easy. 

We are told, with the rise in cases, Bangalore hospitals are overwhelmed.

Some disagree, they say there are enough beds in the hospitals.

The problem is glitches in the system!

Once a patient is found to be covid positive, he is registered  and is given an ID

 by 'an agency', and there are delays due to the system.

Sometime it takes a day or two to register, too much in case of a serious patient.

This is beyond belief, that too in Bengaluru, the IT city!

 Let's hope there are no other serious unsolved issues lurking!

The system seems simple, there are government hospitals for the aam admi. 

And those who have insurance or  ability to pay  will go to private hospitals!

 The logistics involved could be mind boggling. 

After being declared to be positive, the family of a  'poor' patient
has to find an ambulance and that too ONLY after an agency
has registered the Patient's name, and has given the patient an ID.
 I hope the patient is also told which hospital to go directly!

If there is a delay, the family has to wait. If they get desperate
and try to get admission on their own only God can help them!
No hospital will admit the patient.
Correct me if I am wrong!

No wonder those who can manage, are trying to flee Bengaluru. 

Hope the situation is better in their towns and villages!

Unfortunately we have very limited options.
We are constrained to have top down controls as our people are undisciplined.*
Let's hope the IT wizards are at it to make the system smoother.

(* There are exceptions! Kerala and the world famous Dharavi, for instance!)

Meanwhile I came across the chart below from another website.

This shows our plight in a different perspective:

Till yesterday 26,295 patients died due to covid all over India. 
It is estimated, I guess statistically,  5,420, 637 died because 
of other causes independent of Covid Numbers till last week!

Hence we could assume that there are hospitals in smaller towns and villages 
and there is hope that they will be treated in their own hometowns!

 (The numbers are taken as an example, this chart gets updated constantly!)

The problem lies with the 5 megacities dealing with 35% of total cases, namely with 350,000 cases as of yesterday! It surely is worrying!  The situation is serious, lock down is no more useful, our people do not care to maintain social distance. People from all strata of society disregard rules out of ego, bravado and some kind of belief that they are immune! 
No wonder there is a cry for God's help!
