Corona times 2020 -17. Times are getting confusing. How do we go from here?

Saw it on FB, it was posted on 8 May 2020. Doctors residing in the Kunj are forbidden entry from tomorrow, 10th of May.  That is pretty drastic order to be complied at a such a short notice . The society however clarified that they are following the municipality orders. 
Reflects the mood of the people and how they react. 

D is a friend on FB and she is quite upset. The discussion is serious and read on and Judge for yourselves. 

I asked her why she was so upset. D said her daughter works in a well known government hospital in Delhi. A doctor who is serious about her work and doing her best against all odds a young doctor faces today. 

 Often there is no food in the hospital canteen, sometimes she walks seven km to her home. She makes sure to carry her stethoscope to prove she is a doctor and needs to move around. Nice that once a policeman kindly offered to drop her home.

no taking away at all from the sacrifice of armed forces people bit i'd like to know how thrilled a soldier would be if he was sent to war with just a rose in place of arms and ammunition....

again...not to take away from armed forces people....but will medical staff who lost their lives to Covid get medals posthumously?

forget cremation/ burial with honours, people are not letting these martyrs have a decent, dignified burial / cremation! families are being beaten up, vehicles destroyed!

who do these people presume will care for them if they get infected or even just sick with whatever illness?"

The discussion is quite an eye opener.

A: I don’t understand. If we are telling our house staff this, why are doctors and medical staff not bound by the same rules? Especially when they come home from infected places definitely?
Isn’t this classism too?

• D.....but drs know how to make sure they don't infect others around them! how can u ask them to stay away from their houses without making any arrangements for them?
• A.. no there is no such guarantee. They wouldn’t be testing positive or dying if that was the case.
  It is not the housing society’s duty but the hospital’s or the govt’s or some philanthropist’s.
• R...  Comparison with maid and resident is a joke. A doctor enters his apartment and stays isolated. Co residents are meant to do the same. Caution must be exercised. Cant keep a legitimate dweller away. Very particular, plan on moving to a single family home.
• A... really? Residents are being asked not to leave or go to containment areas. Why?
• R..primary reason, the ignorant will disregard caution and come into contact. Not sensible residents where doctors reside.

• D......the way I see it,people are reacting in a paranoid way. Everywhere. Reason being so little is understood about the virus. The medical world itself is yet to fully understand it. These are times for no extreme positions,extreme statements
  • • D....... fat little it is doing! except showing flower petals from an aircraft and clapping -without precautions - we saw the crowds on the streets - as if in a procession!!!! not letting them pool money of their own to buy ppes for colleagues more at risk and compulsorily making them contribute to pmcares fund. why can't the govt organize food, transport and decent accommodation for medical staff? do u think they r not scared for themselves or for their families - for everyone? yes, medical profession ppl are there bcoz they think beyond themselves and their families....

  • D.......given that ,some sensitivity towards ppl who are risking their own lives is not too much to ask? and if we were to say, ok, they r very scared, drs are also human beings, they too have fears. they cud have, like the general public, stayed home and not gone for work ? let all those falling sick take care of themselves in sanitized places with sanitized ppl...drs r exposed to all kinds of infections everyday - we can't not go to them for risk of getting infected?

    
    or, like i said, just like they have designated hospitals for covid,let the authorities find designated, comfortable housing, food transport for drs and other medical staff - for free and take care of their ( medical staff's) family members. can they do it? what about young children? old parents? and,are they sure that if they banish drs from their vicinity they will not get it from any other source? are they sure they are not already carrying the virus even if they do not have symptoms? have they tested themselves? how do v know they r not a risk for their neighbours and the medicos living among them?
• P.... I fully agree with your sentiments and write up madam. This advisory simply illegal , irrational and against the laws passed recently by the state government. Medical personnel should not be harassed at any cost and simply punishable according to their own ordinance passed.
