Tranquility Zone has a special meaning in this already Tranquil place!
Tara has music sessions with our Grandchildren. Leela and Rhea, chose to chat last week. I joined the conversation and told them about a French series which inspired me.
This story was after the first lock down! It was the time when reports of animals moving about more freely made people happy. Motorists were thrilled to suddenly see wild animals crossing their path in many countries. I think gradually such stories became routine. But the story I saw on the French channel impressed as the people involved took some positive steps to create space in an island. This time to safeguard birds which had moved to spaces which humans had vacated! With humans coming back, these birds would lose their eggs and their fledglings!
Here is the story of how a group of dedicated people did something wonderful on this island. A popular place where a million visit in a year! All kudos to this group of people to have accomplished this task. This should surely inspire others.
During the lock-down none could visit this popular island. Without a predator (humans!) the birds had the whole island for themselves. They flourished. Once the lock-down was lifted, boats first circled the island and they were amazed to see how nature had responded to a new situation when there were no humans on the island. It is a fascinating story and surely inspiring.

Some have taken permission to do a census |
Or they don't have enough food in their environments... |
This bird undisturbed and its eggs are now threatened |
These men go to great lengths and try to save as many eggs they discovered |
Not easy to find and protect! Birds had laid their eggs everywhere. |

unscientific development
has put tremendous stress on the ecology.
These kind of initiatives can be easily replicated
and can nullify the damage ,
before we reach a point of no return.

The Tranquility Zone is a great elevating start to the morning,
even though I'm reading the story so many days later.
Thank you very much!
Geeta and I are well and life revolves around visits to Juhu where Kabir, Anne and grandson Tej are! We stay in Shivaji Park with Geeta's mother, as I might have written earlier. (Am sure everyone is galled somewhat by Bombayites thinking all should know the geography of the city and keep dropping names of areas, but allow me to leave this to your memory or a visit to a map! ??)
Keep blogging and spreading uplifting awareness of the world!!
Best wishes and regards to you and Tara,
Arun
